Sacred Heart of Jesus Women’s Guild
The purpose of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Women’s Guild is to focus on the spiritual growth of its members, promote service projects and sponsor social events that benefit the parish.
All women of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish are eligible for membership and encouraged to participate. An annual membership fee is required on joining. The Guild has monthly business meetings, shares in a monthly Communion Sunday, sponsors special events throughout the year and assists as able for other parish activities.
Annual membership dues 2011-2012 are $10. These monies support a small working bank account for the Guild and other programs that benefit Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Academy and PSR.
There are many ways for women of the parish to participate in the Women’s Guild. You can participate by sharing your ideas at our monthly business meetings – we’d love to hear from you. Please check the Sunday Bulletin for most current meeting date information. You can share in Holy Mass with other members of the Guild at our monthly Communion Sunday. You can bake or hostess for our events and receptions. You can chair or serve on a committee for our special events. You can choose to be an officer of the Guild. The Guild needs your interest, time and special talent and in so doing, you’ll be rewarded many times over by meeting new friends and maintaining both a spiritual and social connection to Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

Communion Sundays are held the 3rd Sunday of the month at 10 a.m. Mass. All members of the Guild are invited to share in Holy Mass together where we join in prayer with the parish community.

The Giving Tree: Gift tags with suggestions for donations are displayed on a Christmas tree in the church for several weeks before Christmas. All parishioners are invited to participate by taking a gift tag and donating a wrapped gift as suggested on the tag. Donations are given to the Fatima Family Center and Birthright.
Valentine Bake Sale: A bake sale is held after all masses on the weekend prior to Valentine’s Day.
200 Club: Weekly raffle where proceeds benefit Guild programs and efforts.
Spring Luncheon: The spring luncheon and fashion show held at Mayfield Country Club is cancelled for 2012 .
Easter Plant Delivery: Members of the Women’s Guild deliver Easter plants to homebound parishioners the week prior to Easter. Last year, we delivered 48 plants.
Spring Spiritual Event: Every spring, the Women’s Guild sponsors a spiritual event offered to all women of the parish. Last year, the event was a bus tour of “Historic Houses of Worship”.
