I am very happy to announce that we are entering into a lease agreement with the Lyceum. Although currently located on Murray Hill, they will be leasing space in Tabor House beginning this academic year. The Lyceum is a coeducational, college preparatory school dedicated to providing a classical, Catholic education for students in the seventh through the twelfth grades. Their curriculum is based on the classical understanding of the liberal arts: the Trivium of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric, which are the arts of the mind and language, and the Quadrivium of Arithmetic, Geometry, Astronomy, and Music—the arts of matter and quantity. Their students study Latin, Greek, and music theory, and sing in their Schola Cantorum. Their course of study is so varied from our own Academy’s fine curriculum and their limited numbers (less than 50) will not have any negative impact on our Academy. Their presence at our parish will be a real blessing and will contribute to the excellence of our programs. I know that we will all make them feel most welcome.
